The solution for eco driving was developed to help the driver drive economically and safely. A requirement for the solution is that the car has a CAN bus so it can access the telemetry data from the engine and various periphery devices. The diver gets audio and visual signal when he should shift into high or low gear to keep the engine working in optimal condition and keep the fuel consumption low. The solution also signals the driver when he excides the speed limit for a long period of time or drives in high RPM. All parameters of the drive are transmitted to the SkyTrack central server and stored for later review.

The optimal gear is calculated from telemetry data like: position of the gas pedal, mass flow index (amount of air and fuel that passes through the engine) and RPM. Telemetry data from the CAN bus consists of information on doors, air condition, seat belts and airbags. It is possible to create an alarm event that alerts the user when something changes in the vehicle. The solution helps the driver to drive more economically and the system user monitors the vehicle use more efficiently.
