Tracking the vehicles and checking their current position is the basis for quality management of the vehicle fleet. The device inside the vehicle stores positions and sends them to the system’s central server. The positions are gathered in a variety of ways most common of them are: economical and detailed settings. The positions can be gathered every second or in a wider interval with economical settings. All data about the vehicle movement are stored in the central server database from the moment the vehicle is put in to operation. Current position and the vehicles past movement can be reviewed at any time for one or more vehicles.

Reviewing past movement and vehicle position also reveals sensor events and their position and time they occurred. Tracking is connected with alarms, so alarms are displayed applications for vehicle review. Each event and position has a corresponding date and time so they can be displayed chronologically. Using all data available the logistics department can make better business decisions and have a better degree of control over the vehicle fleet.
